Olympic Values: Friendship

Friendship is one of three key Olympic Values. Friendship helps us to see sport as a way to foster greater understanding between individuals, and see ourselves as part of a global community. Olympic athletes can inspire everyone to overcome political, economic, gender, racial or religious differences. They can forge lasting friendships that celebrate these differences.

Exchanging pins is one of the ways that athletes, volunteers, and journalists at the Olympic Games commemorate new friendships.
